Artemis was leaning against a tree on the outside of one of the Forest Cities. Having been born and raised close to the Forest Cities, she always felt at home and did her best to protect the Cities even though she knew they were protected by magic. However, she felt like it was something she had to do, ever since she had killed an innocent man out of rage.
Staring out into the darkness, she was grateful the full moon had been three days ago. While keeping her senses focused for anything dangerous, even though they weren't that great in human form, she hear a tree branch snap behind her. Immediately she turned around, ready to shift at any moment.

"..." Shu stood silent for a brief moment, glaring coldly at the broken branch beneath his feet. Because of his lack of attention the silence he held so high had been disturbed much o his annoyance. He then looked forward, seeing in front of him a young woman staring at him startled, probably because of the branch he had ridiculously step on. He ignored the woman and continued on his way which, because of his current direction, seemed as if he was going toward her.

Artemis relaxed her posture, but kept an eye on him just in case as he slowly kept moving towards her. Stepping to the side, she leaned back on another tree. "Heading to the Forest Cities?" She asked casually, not really expecting an answer but she asked it anyway. She had been hoping for a shadow creature or something more dangerous, but this person looked harmless so she yawned slightly. "Enjoy your time here in the forest."

Shu kept on walking on the same direction he was, as if Artemis was as important as a stone for him, ignoring her completely while she spoke. However a few seconds after she had finished speaking Shu stopped walking and bursted into a loud laughter. He laughed for around a minute until he got a grip on himself and managed to speak. "How amusingly hilarious! Such a scaredy cat, who jumped at the sound of a breaking twig, calming down the moment she saw my human appearance. On my toes I would be, young miss, if I were thou. Thou should trust not so easily, appearances are deceiving. Even if I am though not to be a threat, the tree behind you abounds with dusk... And death."

Aretmis's eyes narrowed into slits, eyes turning from their usual green to a mix of green and yellow, as Shu laughed and spoke to her. "I'm not scaredy cat and I'm insulted to be refered as such. As soon as I heard that twig snap, I was ready to spring and attack you but seeing that you weren't a shadow creature I figured there was no point in attacking. As to your human appearance, you don't smell anything like a human. I'm not one to rely on my sense of sight alone. I rely on my other senses and even though it looks like I'm calm and unattentive, I'm ready in all possible ways to spring on any attacker." Artemis growled at him as her eyes slowly opened back up and turned back to their normal shade of green.

"How interesting... There are more than just shadow creatures in this disgusting planet... Creatures that smell have not and remain silent, waiting for the beast chance to strike their prey. What would thou do should encounter such a creature?" Shu spoke while searching the ground for a good rock.
It took him only a few seconds to find a stone as wide as his fist that took the shape of a disk. He then grabbed the stone with the idle expression of a child entertained in his affairs and with a quick sudden movement he slung it at the tree's leaves, into the tree that Artemis was leaning against. In the split second the stone disappeared between the tree's leaves, a loud strident screech could be heard, followed by a grey hideous figure collapsing into the ground right in front of Artemis. Shu then sighed and said pointing at the strange creature "Had thou relied more in thy sight thou would notice something with no smell and that made no sound... I had warned thee about the tree."

Artemis glanced down at the strange creature, unfazed. Folding her arms across her chest, she stared at Shu. "What are you?" She asked curiously. "And, what is your name?"

Artemis stopped leaning against the tree and walked closer to Shu, not worrying that she was stepping on the strange creature with her bare feet. "A machina, you say. And what I meant when I asked for your name was what you wanted to be called by." She stopped and looked him in the eye. "As to no soul, I believe you do have one whether it is a mechanical one or otherwise. For with no soul, a body couldn't move." Stepping back slightly, she shrugged her shoulders. "But who knows, maybe I'm wrong. I'm just human after all." Laughing slightly, she smiled.

That is what a soul is for, a feeble belief that the end of life does not equal oblivion. I envy thy foolishness or perhaps... I am the fool." Shu said, contemplating Artemis green eyes with curiosity.
"Please excuse my speech should thee find it a nuisance but hast become of habit to speak in such fashion... I would appreciate being addressed as Shu. It is also of my belief tha-" Before Shu could finish his sentence he saw a grey blur moving toward them very quickly. In the split second he noticed it's movement he realized it was the grey unknown beast that he had struck down earlier that was lunged at them from behind, taking advantage of their moment of distraction. Shu threw a quick punch that barely missed Artemis face, his hand entering the beast's mouth that was wide open ready to bite. Having been shoved something inside it's mouth, the grey fiend tried to crunch Shu's forearm only to find itself unable to chew. It then tried biting it more times, each time as hard as it could but with no result. Shu got a disgusted look on his face, the look of someone who had been overly licked by a dog and now had to deal with all the drool and the feeling that the beast was using his arm as a chewing toy.

Artemis listened as Shu spoke, but had the feeling that something was behind her. Shifting slightly the strange creature came towards him and Artemis was able to get her face out of Shu's punch. In a matter of seconds, Artemis shifted into a big black wolf with yellow eyes. Attacking the creature, she pulled the creature off of Shu's arm and pulled it a way from him. The creature tried to fight back and get away but Artemis dug her teeth in deeper until the creature stopped moving. To make sure it was dead, Artemis snapped it's neck then shifted back into a human and glanced over at Shu to see his expression. She really hadn't meant to shift since she really didn't want Shu to know what she really was, but she had shifted anyways out of anger towards the creature. "You were saying..."

"...That was my favorite shirt." Shu was looking at the torn arm of his shirt, it was now filled with drool and was a literal mess, loose threads hanging on his arm and pieces of cloth stuck between the dead fiend's teeth. Shu's arm on the other hand was perfectly fine, as if nothing had happend to it.
Shu sighed and looked over to Artemis, trying his best to ignore the tattered shirt and the drool running down his arm. He was now curious, the woman had just transformed before his very eyes and a werewolf was a rare sight, even nowadays. "That's an interesting ability you have, young one. Not one a person would boast about, not anywhere though..."

Artemis ignored what he said about his shirt. She had long ago decided that she didn't care about ruined clothes and that their was no point to worry too much about them, especially since any new clothes she bought would always end up getting some holes just from shifting.
Seeing the curiousity pop into his eyes, she mentally groaned. Why did I have to let my anger control me and shift? She asked herself while punishing herself mentally. "I don't usually boast or shift in front of people." Artemis said cooly while not wanting to admit her weakness as to why she had shifted. She had preferred him thinking her as a human, but now that the 'wolf' was out of the bag, she would have to deal with it.
